Crest toothpaste for .19 cents (pre tax). I got this at walmart. In those big green stock up crates all over the place, they had 4 oz crest toothpaste for .94 cents, which is already a decent price. I used my .75 cent off any crest 4 oz or larger and that made the toothpaste only 19 cents. I wish I had had more than 2 coupons lol.
The coupons came from an insert in december, I can't remember which right now. But there are rumors that some areas got 1.00 off coupons. so it would be 06 cent money maker for the lucky one that got those.

Got up this AM at 5:30 planning on a visit, it was pouring the snow. Checked road conditions, not bad, passable, but there is a serve weather watch starting at 3 PM...okay I can leave the MT before then...However, I got worried about the conditions at the top of the mountain and my promise that if it was snowing I wouldn't try to see him :(...So our visit is cancelled and now its 9:30 and sunny :(. He did call, dealing with the disappointment in his voice, not in me just in general and my youngest crying for her daddy has about done me in already.

I know alot of people are so quick to jump in a judge, and be like well if he hadn't messed up then we wouldn't be in this situation..Well it must be wonderful to live life as perfectly as they do. I guess they've never made a wrong choice, or mistake. Not everyones life is the same, and why people get off on making others feel like crap is beyond me. I could go on and on about this but I won't I will say though don't throw out things you may one day regret. B/c anyone of us at any time could end up in prison or in my place. Day by day our freedoms and rights are being taken. Laws changing. The justice system is corrupt and even if you are innocent, well it isn't about innocence, its about money and what they can prove. So think about that.

I was having an amazing dream last night, I had dreamed the Jody called me and was like you can come pick me up saturday, they are freeing some of us early and I'm one of them. I could really feel him home. I woke up and for a brief second, thought that I would roll over and he really would be home...but then it hit me like a ton of brick it was just a dream. While we have killed off another year, some days it seems like we have forever left to go. I just want him home. I feel more normal, more balanced with him by my side.

SO anyone who wants to send me any gifts, do so in walmart gift cards.Had a great shopping day. Me I don't go every time I see a sale or even once a week I go do all my shopping every two weeks, yeah I might miss some sales. But till you have shopped with a psycho 3 year old lol, yeah 2 times a month is all I can stand. So anyway, I got my groceries and other things I needed for the next two weeks for a dollar. Before coupons it was 150 (not sure how much it would have been before price matching) then it was 50 (I had alot of restocking to do, since i"ve not been couponing since oct so all my money could go towards the girls Christmas and we lived off what I had stocked up during the year.

One huge question is where do I get my coupons. I buy the local Bristol paper b/c they have better coupons, and more sales papers the sunday before my shopping trip. But I also order whole inserts (b/c locally the inserts sucks, like yesterday I had no P&G in the paper and I check everyone of them in the store nor did my mom get one in her subscript). So my NYE (new years eve) plans, sitting at home with two sick girls. Both girls were at the after hours clinic today, strep throat, even if they weren't sick I wouldn't be going out, and I'm fine with that. I wish Jody was here to ring in the new year with. But we have our own special traditions. We blow a kiss out the window at midnight, so we get our news years kiss anyway. Not even the DOC can stop little things like that to make us feel close. Now I know I"ve not talked alot about how to keep the relationship going, but its little things like that that help. I talk alot about my kids and my life. B/c you have to some focus other than just your man or it will drive you insane.

Its been a decent year. We became parents to a teenager, he "graduated" with his GED, we got to under 4 years left and are on the down hills slope. We made it through a rut, which was mostly on my end. For some reason this year, was the hardest for me to keep things on fire. But we kept the communication open and I didn't hide my feelings and we muddled through.

New years resolution: of course its the old stand by, lose weight and save money. Also to have more patience with my kids, keep writing everyday and to blog atleast once a week.

My oldest had a sleepover for her birthday, yes 13th birthday last night. We had it at my mom, b/c of my anal down stairs neighbors plus there is a ton more room there. She had fun, and listening to the little girls talk and play and laugh, it doesn't seem that so long ago, me and my friends were doing the same thing...the biggest change is the technology lol for the cake and silly pics all the girls were like let me get my phone, and damn these kids have some nice phones...lol for me and my friends we were excited to have the disposable cameras.

Eden had a good birthday though, she got a digital camcorder, some clothes, the break dawn sound track, and Jody sent her 10$, so she was exicted about having some money...of course she already has to spend it. lol

Okay the weather is crazy, raining and storming yesterday, then I wake up this morning to snow...I hate snow and cold weather b/c it means our visits could be cancelled at a moments notice, Jody puts his foot down about me trying to travel up the mountian in the snow, plus yeah my car isn't 4x4 so atleast it is starting to looking holiday-ish outside.

Not alot to update on GTL is being a pain in my ass, and its taken 3 days to get a payment accepted, so hopefully I will atleast get a call soon. I still write everyday but have been slacking on the mailing so starting after Thanksgiving for Chirstmas, I'm going to mail a little something everyday...It just gets hard finding something interesting to talk about lol. I get up get the oldest one to school, get ready for work,drop the youngest off with my mom, go to work (where once in a while some interesting Mcdrama pops up). Pick the girls come home and watch tv, clean house and go to be lol

We also talk about TV Shows, we try to watch the same ones but he has a limited number of channells and our taste in TV is pretty different. So far the only show we watch together is the Walking Dead...We both agree that Loris baby is Shanes and not Ricks and that Shane should die in the zombie barn.

Tomorrow at 5:13 PM I will officially be the mommy of a teenager...God help me.

We are under the 1500 day mark :) still along time togo but less time than we had at this time last year. And no I'm not desperate, I'm in love, my vows said for better or worse, and every tale has to go through some troubles before we get to the happily ever after. Sucks that we probably won't get a visit this month, :( but we'll make it. Maybe I can spring for a few extra calls and I need to put more effort into my writing...Writing him everyday is hard b/c after a while nothing really changes. But I promised him the night he was arrested that I would write everyday (FYI to the new ladies doing this, don't make that promise) so somenights I just put I love you good night..but I intend to keep my promise.

Thinking of doing some video blogs b/c I think it might be easier than finding the time to type, not sure yet if I do I'll post them on here.

Prayers out to those in OK today, crazy place for an earth quake to hit...I personally think things are going to get alot weirder this coming year

Random Rambles about things

Okay trick or treating was awesome last night, as soon as I find my usb cable I'll upload some pics. We ended up going in the car b/c it was so cold though and Eden scared Lily by telling her cannibals would jump out of the bush and eat her *eye roll*. Lily was asleep by the time we got home so she was up by 6:30 this morning, I hate mornings. Theres a random fact :P.

My blog contest went great congrats to all the winners. With the success of that it has prompted me to do another contest, but this is strictly on cash crate, but you can still sign up and enter. Its simple the person that makes the most money from now till the end of November, and sends me via cash crate mail, the proof of what they made I will snail mail them or pay pal 5.00 extra dollars on the 12/4. Okay 5 isn't alot but its better than nothing. And that's just on top of what you make through cash crate. If you make at least 20.00 this month they will send you a check next month, and since it is Christmas, at least the last two years the checks have came in by the 17th (just in time for last minute gifts.)

Trying to decide what to do about thanksgiving, my brother wants to have it at his house, but I also opened up my big mouth to soon, thinking we would just do it at my moms, and told Jody me and Lily might come up for an hour or so since we won't be getting a visit this month :(...Sigh I'll figure it out.

Thats from our last visit, Lily wanted to show off, last months visit was rough. She didn't want to sit still. And relationship wise, we were hitting some bumps. But all that is in the past and our visit this weekend (I should have the pic of in a few weeks) was wonderful. They had tons of children books out, and he got to read to Lily for a while it was nice to sit back and watch and pretend we were home and not inside, and he was reading to her before bed time. Good visits definitely outweigh the bad, and time is moving slowly but moving.

He is doing really good, he is completely some college classes and as long as the funding holds out he will get out with an associates of business. He just now completed some serve safe stuff and got certified for that, which is something the managers at work have to go through. So that is kinda cool. And he has started electrician training. So he is definitely making the most of this situation and improving himself while in there. So I guess that is something good. I know that he wouldn't be going to colllege or anything if he were home b/c he would to worried about working and all..so gotta look on the bright side.

Next visit will be in a month, as long as the snow holds off another month

But I found a neat site that does kinda help, well at least keeping me organized. Its FlyLady...Now, alot of the stuff I don't do like making my bed everyday or wearing shoes in the house, but a lot of her tips really help. Heres how I use flylady. I clean for 15 minutes a day everyday, that usually involves the basics of her routines, wiping the sinks, toilets, picking up trash and toys. On my days off I add another 15-30 depending on my mood for the whole house. The best thing is the missions she sends out via her facebook page, I write them all down and usually do them all in one day. While my house still looks like a tornado hits it most days, lily is a bit messy and I don't have the patience or energy to follow behind every second and pick up...But alot of the dirt and clutter is gone, or atleast under control. She also has great tips for moving (which I need soon), holidays, back to school.

My favorite part is the control journal though, I'm a list making freak and her idea to have everything in one central place and use it, really appealed to me. So even though I don't' follow her like some, I definitely recommend her for motivation.

Yes I said it, every year without fail, I always end up shopping for someone on the week before christmas. This year I am determined to go about different. With our family I buy one gift for my dad, mom, brother. For Jody, I'm going to order a holiday pack,*which I'll make another post about in a bit*. For the girls I do layaway, so I'm super excited that walmart is bringing it back, b/c I usually go to kmart, and around here they are alot more expensive without the same selection. Their policy isn't allowing to everything to go in, so I know that will cause some problems, not for me I've read lol and memorized the policy so I can hopefully get in and out.

All that being said I have already order and recieved my moms and brother gift so I'm getting there lol.

Bumps are even bigger

Every relationship has bumps, but it seems in this kinda of relationship they are bigger and they last longer. Mostly b/c in most cases you can't communicate in real time, we get 20 minutes on the phone every week or so, when you get into a good conversation the annoying little man comes on the phone and tells you you only have 60 seconds left, often cutting you off in the middle of something important. Visits are great but in my case I get them once a month and I have lily with me and sometimes , like the last visit where I really wanted to discuss some things especially how I had been feeling lately...she just didn't cooporate so instead of fighting with her I just left, about 2 hours after I got there and felt like I wasted the visit. And some places do have email or JPay option, we don't, so we have to rely on snail mail. So a discussion that would normally be over within a few minutes, tends to last over a week.

Which is exhausting, he said he wanted me to be honest with him about what I was feeling b/c we are close enough that we can tell when something is wrong, but I have a problem with being blunt, so I told him I was tired of it all...Not meaning being married or being married to him...Just the whole prison thing, and feeling like I'm married to an invisible man. Sometimes and I know compared to some that we dont have long, but sometimes it seems like forever.

I've had a heck of a time logging into my accounts, for some reason whenever I log off my password gets changed, I would hate to think someone would be hacking my blog, but I suppose its possible. Things are same old same old. We had a very short visit today, but I think its because my youngest might be getting sick, she had started doing better about sitting still and not whining and crying (she is 3 1/2) today though she just wasn't having it. But last months visit was awesome, Lily did great then and we were able to stay all day. Yes my shirt says property of Jody :P, but no he doesn't consider me his property and I'm not that submissive, the shirt was more of a gag type thing, before I get emails concerning the nature of our relationship. He is very respectful of me. :). After todays visit, only 49 more visits to go, just alittle over 50 months left, which sounds like alot less than 4 years and 2 months but we are getting there.

He had his graduation ceremony a couple of weeks ago, b/c last year he got his GED to late to be in last years, they do caps and gowns the whole bit, to bad families couldn't be there, I would have loved to have seen. But they did get them real food, he said they had pizza and cake with icing (apparently he gets alot of icing-less cake) so he was excited about that. And I couldn't be more proud, I mean the situation is shitty but he is making the most of his time, he is already 1/2 to an associates business degree, now if funding will just hold out till he gets it that will be awesome but if not at the end of this semester he'll only have a few credits left to get when he gets out.

I know I've been super crappy about updating but I've been a bit down which happens and stressed with normal life worries and all but I"m hoping to start updating atleast once a week maybe twice a week on something.

and quiet honestly one of my worst fears, that a major disaster will strike and my husband (who thankfully we are far from the coast) will be left behind, not unlike the movie the Stand where the guy was surviving on eating rats..And while I shouln't be surprised that the prisoners are being treated worse than animals. The fact that no one seems to care really hurts, most of these men have familys, children, wives, mothers, and they are people too.

Well what a wake up call

Crazy thing, huh? The earthquakes? One in VA, that shook the entire east coast and another in Colorado...both places it is an unusual hit. Hopefully all you out there are okay. I personally didn't feel anything but dizzy around the time it happened, I figured that it was b/c I skipped lunch. My oldest didn't feel anything either. My mom and my youngest on the other hand did. Jody is okay, he didn't feel much, but they were put on lockdown for the rest of the day, as a precaution...

I'm not one to go all crazy and end of times, but the world is crazy right now so that really makes you think. I do have a couple of er bags that I packed a while ago, I'm going to double check them. And the cell phones that went down, makes you really want to rethink how you plan on contacting your family in case something really major happens.

Just a couple of things that was on my mind tonight.

Not sure why but today I feel a strong urge to write this down. I had just ran 4 miles in the hot humid sun as usal while I run my mind ran thru what seemed like a million random thoughts and as uaul these thoughs all led to the same basics, my love for my wife and kids. This may sound strange but my total devotion and over power love for them at times blows my mind. What have I ever done to deserve such overwhelming emotions? Most people live their whole lives without feeling the kind of bond my wife and I share. Yeah being in prison sucks bad. But there isn't a day that goes by that I don't feel like the luckiest man in the world. For those who have read this and roll your eyes I truly hope that one day you you look back and say oh thats what he was talking about. Anyway, let me get back to what I was saying. After my run I was feeling the weight of missing my family, the loneliness that can bear down on those in prison. I looked around and listened I was surrounded by gang-bangers, murders, rapist and others of the like that didn't do much for the feeling of isolation. Then I turned around and seen what I hadn't noticed before. Mountains. Kinda crazy when you think about the fact I've been here for a year and few months. But I looked past the fence and was just struck by the beauty of the trees and the mountains. They didn't just appear they have always been there for someone willing to look beyond the fences and razor wire. It was 17 months before I seen the beauty right in front of me. For a few minutes I felt more free than anyone on either side of the fence. My point in writing this is to remind those out there to take time to look past your own fences, look past the things you can find to complain about or worry over and appericate the beauty of the life that surrounds you. There are things out there bigger than us and maybe just maybe recognizing that will make life a little easier no it won't solve your problems or pay your bills but perhaps it will put things in perspective. I know this isn't like my other entries, but I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for reading

Since I updated but its been crazy here and we just back from a week on the beach with my girls and my parents. It was great, I had an awesome week with no headaches, or insomnia, really recharged myself. We stayed at a nice little condo in myrtle beach called a place at the beach 3, it wasn't to bad, small (that doesn't bother me my apartment is small) there was no central air, and that kinda sucked but the space a/c kept the living cool and we got a couple of fans for the room me and the girls stayed in. Had a great view from the porch. I wish we could have stayed longer. Took the girls shopping and to the alligator farm. It was little pricey for tickets but the look on Lilys face while the "crocagators" were feeding made it all worth while.

I actually lost a few pounds too lol alot of walking was done :).

I do have to brag on my husband for a bit, he just finished his second semester of college and got all A's again. Sadly VA is changing the rules for college for inmates and he isn't sure that he will be able to continue, we are hoping though. He is really enjoying it and it helps keep him busy. I did ask him for some money only 10 dollars to help out with Edens school stuff, I never ask him for money but with vacation and it wasn't paid for me, I really need a few extra bucks. I felt bad for asking, but he sent me 20, and we are home in time for me to get in on the tax free deal, so thats cool (if I get off my butt and go to walmart today). Got alot of mixed reviews about asking for money to help out. But he said it made him feel good to be able to help and to know that I can depend on him, when I need to...I pride myself on being independent and not asking for help, so to him that meant alot.

School starts for Eden in 10 days, seems like summer has flown by. I was considering putting lily into headstart in sept, but honestly I don't know if I can. She is my baby, and I know she'll grow up one day. But I just want to keep her home with me alittle longer, I know it would give me some more hours at work and some more free time. But *sigh* I have to send her sooner or later but I'm leaning towards later

4 years ago today actually about 20 minutes ago, we were getting married. It wasn't big or fancy. It was just a very simple courthouse wedding. Just me and him. I wore a silver and white short evening dress and actually put on some make up ;). The guy that did our ceremony let us do it outside, even let us play a song (Jody was embarrassed that I asked but I had warned him its my wedding I'm allowed to be a bit goofy). We played You're still the one :). He took pictures of us while we read our vows.

I'm working today to try to keep myself busy b/c we've never been able to celebrate and anniversary together and I don't want to sit around all day having a pity party. Oh well only 4 more years then we'll be celebrating together...

Several of the inmates in pelican bay started a hunger strike on July 1st, in the shu (or hole as it is commonly called). I noticed some people talking about it on facebook and found this article about it.

And as this article states:

"On Friday, July 1^st, between 50 and 100 men at the Security Housing Unit of California’s infamous Pelican Bay prison go on hunger strike to protest cruel and unusual punishment. It is a punishment inflicted, primarily, on their minds. At the heart of the protest is solitary confinement, the barbaric torture that deprives prisoners of contact with fellow human beings, condemning them to a kind of “social death” – some for decades.

Inmate organizers say prisoners have been subjected to solitary and a whole range of deprivations for ten, twenty, even forty years. They are most incensed at the policy euphemistically called “debriefing,” in which inmates are pressured to confess to every crime they have ever committed in life. They are then expected to inform on other prisoners, their crimes, conversations and gang affiliations. This information – whether true or false – is then used to throw fellow inmates into the special Hell of solitary confinement. It is a brutal, sadistic cycle of degradation, a bizarre world in which everyone is compelled to “snitch” on everyone else. It was 5 years ago this morning that I was raped. It has taken me alot of time be be able put it like that. For the longest time I would say my attack that thing, ect. I also know that I didn't do anything wrong, that I didn't ask for it, no matter what the police, or courts thoughts (like I've said in other post the justice system is messed up).

I won't go into great detail I don't remember alot of the details. But while it wasn't my fault I did do something stupid. The guy I vaguely knew, no I won't be putting the degenerate's name up here, not b/c I'm worried about offending him or slander thats the least of my worries. I've never told Jody his name b/c I know my husband and I will not be responsible for my husband temper in this case or give him another reason to go back to prison. Anyway this guy was a friend of a friend, I've always hung out with guys and never ever had a problem with any of them taking no for an answer, so I never had reason to suspect this jerk would be a monster. But I was wrong, I let him in, yes barely knowing him around 8:-8:30 when he knocked on my door. He brought me some coffee, I mentioned when I met him I was a coffee junky. I knew he had been flirting and stuff. But like I said the guys that I knew were respectful(ish) but men enough to take no for an answer. We talked for a little bit then the conversation started to get really uncomfortable. So I was like well guess you need to leave I've got to get ready to take my oldest (and only at the time) after school shopping with my mom, this was 9ish...I head down the hall to the bathroom figuring he'd take a hint. I come back and the door is locked. I try to not panic, b/c I'm not a hysterical person. He keeps asking if I want to hook up I keep telling him no...This is where is gets blurry, b/c while it seemed like it lasted forever it was only minutes I think. I finally get really irked and pissy and tell him there is no way I'd have sex with him, he was so far my type that I wouldn't even consider it drunk and passed out. And head towards the door, I figure hell if I go outside, he'd eventually leave or I could call the police when my mom got there, I didn't have a phone or cell phone at this point. This is when he grabs me, he hits my head up against the door and throws me to the floor. I'm fighting and no I don't remember if I screamed or not. I continued to fight till he hit me twice more, once in the jaw I spit on him for that even though it felt broke, for the spitting I got hit hard enough in the side of the head to see stars. It was at this point something inside me just said give up and let him do it and it will be over. My voice inside my head seemed to make sense. Since this piece of shit, told me next time he would hit me hard enough to knock me out or kill me and "do me anyway"..So he raped me in my living room then drug me to the bed room and raped me again. The actual rape felt surreal like I was dreaming I know I just kept laying there wishing it was over.

When it was over, he got up like it was no big deal, asked me if I was going to tell anyone. I told him no, who'd believe me (I wish I knew how right I was about that point). Then told me he was leaving some cigs on the counter and wanted to know if I wanted to see him again. I was like what are you serious..I cussed him at this point. Then he leaves.

I put back on my clothes and sit on the porch steps, my first thought is what if he comes back. So I knocked on my neighbor door, but there is no one home. So then I get scared I could get pregnant, he didn't use a condom and I wasn't on any kinda birth control. I only live like 2 minutes from a hospital, I didn't have a car, so I walked it. I cried the whole way over there and felt my heart was going to explode. This was an almost bigger mistake than opening my door. I told the triage nurse what had happened, and that I really was just wanting the MAP and stuff to prevent any kinda STD's b/c the way the guy had handle himself I'm 90% sure he has done it before.

She tells me that the forensic nurse will have to come in from Roanoke that will take a few hours and that she has to call the police. I was like okay whatever. During the time waiting for the nurse and police to show up I wasn't allowed to even wash my hands or take a sip of water. I was left alone in a hospital room. Which was fine, I called a couple of my friends, I didn't want to call my mom yet. One of my friends remembered his name which was good b/c at this point I couldn't remember it.

The police seemed more worried about the fact I wasn't a crying mess and I didn't react like they thought I should, by the time they had arrive I was upset yes but thirsty tired, and I wanted to go home. I stupidly thought they would care about catching and punishing this guy.But no they were more worried about why I would open my door to a near stranger, no matter how many times I had explained that I have never had a problem with guys respecting the word NO and I grew up with guys ect. And what I was wearing well if any one thinks an oversize dragon tshirt with a hole in it and my dads cut off sweat shorts are hot sexy saying rape me, then you got problems. I also made the mistake of telling the investigation officer that this was nothing like on TV, they actually take the time to listen the victim. He went off about how this was real life and if I'm lying I would be punished. I told my story over and over again that day. They never believed me, especially once they found out this guy had a family, why rape someone when you have a wife at home you can get sex from..Yep thats the wonderful Norton PD for you.

The nurse that did rape kit was wonderful though she really took time and listened and seemed to care, but she was the only one. I do wish I could remember her name to thank her.

The court system was even worse, I was a single mom, with and I admit to it numerous past partners, I liked (well like) sex and I wasn't settling down anytime soon, no job at that time. He was married with a kid, a miner. Even the victims advocate was on his side. I finally decided to go to the prelim hearing just to see if I could take seeing him again. I froze up during court, and my mom had to leave to pick my daughter from school. I had a friend with me, and after court,the advocate who excuse me if I"m wrong. Is suppose to be on my side, wouldn't let me go out to smoke since he was smoking out there I was told to sit in the hallway, like a prisoner. Then has the nerve to say to me you don't look to torn up, I was like if I pull my sleeves back and pants down you will see how upset I am, had started cutting alot after the rape. They were letting me decide if I wanted it to go to the grand jury...the bailiff says loud enough for me to hear, I don't know why she is taking up everyones time, you know he didn't rape her. I siad then and there fuck this, fuck you all and fuck him. I'm done.

Its beat into our heads that we need to report rapes and sexual assault. If god forbid it ever happens to me again, I wouldn't report it at all. I wouldn't not put myself through the pain and torture of the justice system.

My husband and I got back together 9 months after the attack, and he probably saved me. He helped me stop cutting, he helped me realize that I wasn't broken and damaged. That this wasn't my fault at all. I had a few freaks on him and locked my self in the bathroom, he would sit on the other side of the door and just let me talk.He never questioned or insinuated that I was lying. He really came in like my knight in shining armor, he saved me.

5 years later and I still do have alot of anger, towards the guy ( I will not call him a man) and the police, the DA's the victims advocate. And I do still freak out when someone knocks on my door and I"m not expecting anyone (atleast now I will go to the door). I'm not 100% comfortable alone with guys, which honestly since getting married doesn't happen. But I'm better every day. Maybe one day I will be able to forgive, but not right now.

Well I think it sucks, she probably killed her little girl or atleast knows what happened to her. And she gets out.While my husband, who didn't kill no one or even touch anyone (notice I didn't say hurt b/c there are levels of hurt) still has over 4 years left. I'm not outraged or shocked as many seem to be. I'm not surprised. The justice system is messed up and crazy has been for a long time. Do I blame the jury, no not really. I mean they weren't allowed to see all we were getting to see and were not allowed to take into consideration all the Nancy Grace hoopla from the previous years. The prosecutions case was not air tight, there were to many holes and gaps it was to circumstantial.Yes I know Scott Peterson and blah blah blah, I watched that trial to and yes it was circumstantial as well, but imho there was more substantial evidence in that case. I also think that the state had bit off more than it could chew asking for the death penalty. Only two women have ever been executed in FL. Did they really think that they were going to be able to get another one, with out cold hard facts jumping off the page?

But that is neither here nor there. Do I think she did it? I think probably so but I also don't think she was the only one in her family that knew something. That family makes my look sane and trust me we aren't lol.

One thing that I don't agree with is all the death threats towards everyone in the case. I wish people would think alittle more, Chances are if you kill someone especially someone in a high profile case like this...You will not get off with a slap on the wrist. You will get prison time.

I think we all just need to move on*(this is the first time I've had a chance to update due to my work schedule* and try to get somethings like caylees law passed.

If you have a loved one or family member housed in Arizona DOC you need to take notice to this. This is what is being proposed for the The Executive Budget Fiscal Year of 2012 & 2013.

This is what the proposed budget is predicting the ADC will bring in this year:

ACI Fund: $1.0 M

Telephone & Commissary Proceeds: $1.0 M

1% Inmate Banking Fee: $0.3 M

Inmate Visitor Application Fee: $2.3 M

Corrections Fund $0.6 M

Estimated Continuing Appropriation of $5.2 M

I first want to thank an anonymous colleague of mine for obtaining this information for us. I hope everyone will just give her some kudos when commenting on this post. She is extremely credible.

This is where it gets ridiculous!! They want to charge $25 application fee (including babies) to pay for the back round check, but DPS (Department of Public Safety) only charges AZDOC $5. Charging $25 is obviously inflated price intended to scam more money out of visitors.

Also, this proposal would require already-approved visitors to go through the approval process again. Yes you read that correctly!!!

This is unbelievable! It already takes two months to approve a visitor. Imagine how long it would take to re-approve all existing visitors. This alone is an item worthy of a letter to your representatives in the legislature.

The Arizona Department of Corrections is proposing that ALL inmate deposits, including pay checks and money sent in from loved ones, be assessed a one percent fee. Certain groups are already looking into the legality of this fee.

So, there you go. We know what we need to fight for this year. It seems the governor wants to hand the silver spoon over to ADC Director Charles Ryan. She states in her first 2011-2012 fiscal year budget proposal that public safety is the core of the Arizona government. While all other departments are being cut, the Arizona Department of Corrections is receiving an increase through tax dollars and the pockets of visitors ... if her budget is approved by the legislature.

I can’t see anything happening with sentence reform/reduction this year. It looks like it is going to be a banner year for the Arizona Department of Corrections.

It’s time to be proactive, and it is time to start contacting Arizona state representatives.

Families with loved ones in Michigan DOC are voicing our concerns regarding the recent phone rate increase (PCS) by protesting in Lansing (state capitol) July 12th and for the next 32 days we will PEN UP and phone down (no calls/reduce calls). Please pray for the success of our efforts!!!

VBS and long weeks

Shew last week was rough on me I worked double what I normally do. My vacation coming up is not paid so I need to work as much as I can up till then so that week I miss won't hurt as bad. And my girls had vacation bible at a little church I've started going to. Eden really enjoyed it even if she didn't get out of her shell much, now she is complaining she is bored. I need to find something else for her to do. Lily did pretty good, her attention span is still super short, and she really enjoyed the singing and crafts.

Got some news on Chris, as far as Jody knows, he is okay and heard that he was in the hole for a while. I hope he learnt his lesson.

Sometimes Reality Smacks Me.

Its not that I ever forget where Jody is, that he is gone or that he is constantly surrounded by danger and violence. But he doesn't tell me everything that goes on or how bad things are at times, so I don't worry. He is in a level 4 max, so I know things aren't easy and there are alot of bad violent people in there.And yes technically on record my husband is a violent offender, b/c his charge, not because he touched anyone, this time, he has been in fights, but he has never killed anyone . And his current cell mate is in for life, for killing 4 people his wife included, why? who knows, but the creepiest part, he hid her body and said that he will not tell where it is till he is dying. My husband isn't like that but it reality for him. He can take care of him self, i believe that, i have to or I would go insane. I still worry, but it is easier to not think about it, to just think hey he is away on a business trip or something. Well something happened that changed that. He called me Monday night our friend Chris, used to be his cellie before he took the kitchen job, was jumped by 8 guys. It was ban enough that they didn't take him to medical at the prison, he is in an actual hopstiol. Jody had told Chris who not to mess with and all, and he wasn't messed with alot when Jody was in his pod, its bothering Jody b/c he feels responsible in some way. And even though he has told me before when massive fights put them on lockdown, it was more like reading a book or watching TV, b/c I didn't know the effected. I've known Chris since I was 16. So its like a big reality slap in the face. If it happened to Chris then it could happen to Jody.

Please pray for Chris.

I inspired my daughter

I took my girls to the local pool yesterday. My oldest is 12 almost 13 and it at that awkward stage with her body. I've not been comfortable with my body in years, so I usually wear a cover up. Eden was wearing one to, I let her go off and do her own thing as long as she checks in with me every 30-45 minutes to let me know she is okay and to put on sun screen. Anyway, I took off my cover up, figured screw it I'm over 30 with 2 kids, my body will NEVER look like it did at 17, pre kids, so what if I have some fat rolls and cellulite...About 30 minutes after I took mine off I noticed Eden had hers off too. On the way home she said I inspired her to take her cover up off, that if I could be comfortable enough looking like I do (yeah thanks E lol) then she could take hers off to.

I guess I didn't realize how much attention she really does pay to me and what I do. She is pretty standoffish and antisocial. I am glad that she looks up to me, but it also made me realize, that my obsession with my weight and all probably isn't the best thing for the girls to be around constantly. So I'm going to dial back my dieting, and start working on loving my body no matter the size or shape.

Morale of the story, even if you don't know it your kids are watching you.

12 year old kills his little brother

This story is disturbing, but what i find even more disturbing is the fact that people actually think this child, yes he committed a horrible crime should be put to death. Where the freak was his mother at, my girls have the same age difference between them and I wouldn't leave them alone long enough for something like this to happen. I think that he should be put into a pysch unit for a very long time, and the mother should be the one to face the justice system. We live in a messed up world where other adults want to condemn children to the death penalty.

From what I have read he has hurt his little brother before but the mother still allowed this to go on. Still allowed them to be alone together. In my mind she is more to blame than him.

Hopefully this boy can get the help he needs.

Earning extra money for vacation.

So I'm planning on a vacation at the end of next month. Sadly it isn't paid, so I need to come up with a way to earn alittle bit extra so my paycheck can go to my bills, but I can still have some "fun" money. While I don't use this site as much as I did when I signed up in 2009, I usually use it a month before vacations, xmas, birthdays. Because it is a very reliable source to get extra money. I've never NOT received a check from them when I reach the 20.00 pay out minimum. And it is really simple to use, you can earn some extra several different ways through cashcrate. You earn a few cents for checking in daily, you can do the daily survey's every 24 hours, you can do a huge amount of other offers (make a dump email account for these though), and even get paid to watch videos. You can also earn points, towards gift cards, electronic and many more items..

The forums on this site are great for helping out newbies, and really friendly.

Till I can bring him home again. We had wonderful visit yesterday, even with the new computer systems. It took a bit longer than normal to check in, b/c they had to rerun the background checks. And make copies our ID's again (and lilys birth certificate). This is a statewide thing, so if you haven't visited since the 5/16. Make sure you are prepared for this anyone under 18 has to have their birth certificate with them, and if they aren't your children, another permission slip will need to be filled out, or you'll get turned away. This is for VA. We stayed from 8:45 till 1:30. Lily was pretty well behaved, and they actually had the air conditioner going, last year it was miserable in the visiting room by 10 it was in the 90's. Not so this time. And the fact they finally got some kid type games, helps tremendously.

We got to talk some about some more serious things. Not our relationship. On that front things are still wonderful. Every time I see him I fall more in love with him. Seeing his face hearing his voice touching his hand, all reinforce the fact that this wait is worth it for me. Easy? NO but definitely worth it. He is more than just my husband, and our vows were more than just words spoken. He is my best friend, my rock, and my soulmate. This sentence is just a bump in our road, and will only make us stronger.

He is hoping to get a visit from his mom next month, he did ask that I find out when she is coming and for me to come on a different day. That would bother some people. But visiting with lily is distracting. And this is his mother, and her first visit with her son in over 3 years, so I will step aside. I get every other weekend off so I'm more than able to make my visits a different day.

I do wish that they would start doing pics again. I liked seeing how we changed month to month especially Lily. It bothers me that this is what she is growing up knowing, prison and her daddy being in time out. But their bond is amazing, she is definitely a daddys little girl. And in his mind there is nothing like her either. She is the baby of the family but the absolute apple of his eye. I try not to think on the what ifs or if he was home how it would be...but I know if he was home she would be even more spoiled.

The CO's were awesome yesterday, gotta love it when you get an understanding shift, meaning lily could play in the floor beside our table. That and the fact, every other table was full of kids helped. Alot of people complain about kids in the visiting rooms, but they either don't have kids or just no patience. Yes I'm sorry if my daughters squeals or cries or her getting games annoy you..but seriously our family needs time together as much as yours does, tune them out.

Bragging on my guy

Okay so I feel the need to do a Jody update and brag a bit on him. For once his high blood pressure is under control, without medicine. Probably b/c he doesn't get fast food and isn't allowed to smoke and works out alot.
But that's not what I'm going to brag about :). I looked up his grades for last semester, he got both A's. He starts his second semester on the the 11th, he gets to take 4 classes this time, he is excited about it and would like to have a a college degree by the time he gets out..that is if state funding holds out. He started his new job on Saturday, he works 3am-5pm very long shift, but he will be making around 90$ a month, and its a kitchen job. He was able to move out of his old pod, into a new one, so him and Chris aren't cellies anymore, but I think they'll still be able to talk. He likes his new pod alot better and I can tell a huge difference in the noise level when he calls. Most the guys in this pod work a similar type shift, so the pod is empty (pretty much) during the day and at night he said by 10 everyone is asleep.

It is hard thinking we still have so long to go 54 months but it is going by and every day is one more closer to him being home.

My walmart Trip

Yeah I spend alot of time in walmart and that is still where I do a majority of my shopping. I saved roughly 25% today, or 20.68 with coupons and matchs up not a huge amount I know compared to some but my total before price matching and coupons was under 100, it was 85.11.

Heres the best match ups I found this week. CVS has purex 50 oz on sale for 1.97, its normally 2.49 @ walmart, combined with my 1.00 off coupon I was able to get another bottle of detergent for .99. So I'm am pretty stocked on detergent till the next sale.

My second good score was I pretty much got childrens trimanic at BOGO value. They are normally 4.97 at walmart. Food City has them on sale for 3.99. I had a coupon get $3.00 any 2 bottles. so I got 2 for 4.98.

So I"m wetting my feet over on WUC, and conducting my first coupon train. I'm curious to how it will go lol I"ve never done a train as a rider or other wise. LOL though the name of my train is lacking I think it will be fun. The rules for my train is really simple
My rules are very simple.

Accepting all riders with 50 plus post, this is my first train so I will be closing it to all new riders after wednesday. If you want to join post here and PM your info.

This will be a good one I think for the newbies that haven't done alot of trading, you don't have to have any feedback to do this one but I'm asking you guys follow a few simple rules..

Heres how my train is going to work. After Wednesday it will be closed to new riders and I will post the schedule that we will follow. I will write or print the list and mail out the coupons to the first person on the list..This person will then mark their name off the list, take out the ones they want/need, mail the list and coupons to the next person and so on.

Heres my rules..

.No peelies as I don't agree with taking coupons off the product that you aren't using right then. Blinkies and tear pads are fine though.

2. Keep the IP's to a min please

3. a wish list isn't mandatory but encouraged, try to look at the person wishlist and put a few in there of those.

4. Turnaround time I'd like to keep it to at most 3 days. And the envelope to atleast 40 q's

5. Try to include a little surprise something, a recipe you like, drink pack, sample just alittle extra RAOK to make someones day

6. Enjoy

7. Please leave positive feed back to whoever sends you the q's

I've been a Misha Collins fan for a long time. Since I saw him in Karla, yes his role was disturbing heck that whole movie was disturbing. And I fell in love with his character, Castiel in Supernatural...Even if he has went all dark side in the season finale last night. He is staring in a web series this summer called Divine, he plays a priest (hello misha in a priest outfit, I could easily lose my religion there ;) ) who is having trouble with faith, freewill and an immortal being called Divine. The trailer which was recently released looks really good.

Forgive don't Forget Project

Found this through a Facebook group. And thought I would share it. Its the forgive don't forget project. Even the bible talks about prisoners in Hebrews 13:3 Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.

If you want to find out more about this visit their website. I know that there are many prisoners that aren't as lucky as my husbands, whose family and friends abandon them once they make a mistake and get locked up. But it helps to remember that most of them are only human and have made a bad choice.

Some stores don't like extreme couponing.

Now I did start taking couponing more seriously with the episode of extreme couponing that was shown in January. However I am far from extreme, I for one will never dumpster dive to get free coupons, I don't buy a million inserts or papers nor will see me clearing a shelf of mustard lol..or any shelf period, if there are more than a couple things. The most I have ever bought of one product is 10 pudding snacks lol and thats b/c they were 10/10 and I needed to spend 10$ to get some EBC at CVS.

A few little things I got at walmart

Sorry no pics lol I'm lazy to day and I still have to clean my house so no time to get the pics upload them and put stuff away. I perfer to shop alone lol b/c it takes to long with other people I went with my mom today and spent way to much time in the store.

Great price match with coupon on 50 oz purex, its normally 2.97 at walmart, this week, IGA has the same size on sale for 1.99, a few weeks ago I got a mailer for 1.00 purex 50-100 oz detergent. So that combined with the price match ( which yes the policy states you don't have to have the ad with you, I take them with me just in case, theres no reason to cause yourself or the cashier anymore stress) I got it for .99 cents a bottle. Food City has Domino sugar on sale right now for 1.99 per 4 pound pack, at walmart it is normally 2.49 so I saved .48cents right there, and had a coupon for .50 off one so I got the sugar for 1.50.

Now I know this isn't the extreme some of the more professional couponers go but I'm happy with it. I don't do huge trips nor do I buy a huge amount of coupons at once. But since January when I started doing this on a more serious level I've been able to save around 30-50% each trip. My best ever was 54% a couple of weeks ago. I'm happy with it.

Okay I hope to go back to atleast a post a day now that blogger got over what ever issues it had...

Jody is doing good, his first semester is over I need to look up his grades for him, but he got a 92 and 96 on the two finals he had. I"m very proud of what he is doing with himself, I'm not proud at all for the fact he is in prison. But he is doing so much to better himself.

There never seems to be enough energy or hours in the day to get all I need done done. Now since I'm trying to move up a tad bit at work, lol I've got homework there :P...nothing major I should know how to train people I've been there long enough. This month makes my 3 year mark at mcd's...sigh, honestly this is the longest I"ve stayed at one job....That place though one day I'm going to write a book about all the drama and change the names lol it would be entertaining to say the least.

Each year the United States Post Office runs a huge nationwide food drive. It is very simple and easy to do. So I'm going to challenge each one of my readers to leave atleast one can or pack of food at thier mailbox or post office on SATURDAY, MAY 14, 2011 for the postman or woman to pick up.

So Jody finally got around to doing a post, its been a while.

Hello everyone, its really cool that there are people out there following mine and Gingers story so much, so thank you all for reading. Sorry its been so long between my entries. I've been here at Keen Mt. For a little over a year now, in some ways it has went fast and of course in some ways it has felt like an eternity. I've been trying to keep myself as busy as possible. I just finished my first semester of college. I should have my Associates Degree in a year and half, every chance I get I'm either lifting weights or running. I also have a job, I iron from 9:30-3:30 which is just as fun as it sounds. Soon I'll be in electrical class as well, I've also signed up for every self improvement class they offer here. No none of this will get me out a day early but I'm determined to be a better man when I get out. Nothing I will ever do will make me deserve the beutiful wife that stands by my side but that doesn't mean I'll ever stop trying. I feel that it is only fair to speak about both sides of my life here in prison.Its not all been classes and becoming a better person. The environment is not easy and sometimes the line of right and wrong so clear on the outside is blurry in here. I have been in fights and yes I could have probably walked away from them, but in here to walk away means you are a victim, then you'll be the one that other people will to get points from you or you'll be extorted,.Don't ever get it confused this is not a made for TV movie "the guy that faces the bully doesn't always win, standing up for the right thing can cost you your life in here.In here its about balance, people have to know you aren't an easy target, but if yo act to tough you'll be shown you aren't jet lee and that four or five guys will fck you up. Its hard to explain how to achieve this balance, I have for the most part its about having enough heart to fight, but not so much that it gets you killed. I've usually always been the one to try and stand up for the one who can't stand up for themselves but that it on the outside. In here looking the other way is just part of life, guys get jumped, guys get raped, they get extorted, but its their fight. To involve your self is not the brave thing, it is the stupid thing some of you will probably think I'm a jerk for saying that, but what makes you think if you stop a guy from getting raped that you won't end up getting ganged rape as retribution. Now with that said that's why you get a small crew, not a gang that is a whole nother issue, but a small crew that way it is known that if someone messes with one they will have their hands full. There have been a few deaths up here, one guy was beat till he literally had his brains beat out. Is life in here easy? Never. Sure I don't have it as bad as most. My mom helps with money and the support system I have in her and my wife helps more than I can express. But I'm not above it all, my one goal is to make it home with my mind and body in tact.1/2 way there. Thanks for ready I'll try to send another soon.

Random Ramblings

So today is mothers day...Happy mothers day to all you moms out there :).
We had a visit yesterday and lily. The prison has finally got a few games to keep her attention. Not ideal, but better than a year ago when all they had out was connect 4 and scrabble. It was his 31st birthday and he was kinda down about having to celebrate there, but he'll be 35 when he comes home, so its only 4 more years well technically a little over 4 1/2. I think they are getting ready to change the way they do visit. I have been going there for alittle more than a year and they have never searched my car. Yesterday they searched the car and brought the dogs out, the one that sniffed us was a huge choco lab...Lily was thrilled to see puppies lol.
No pics again this time :( maybe next time.

Today was a good day my dad cooked steak out and had a wonderful church service. I hadn't been going to church for a while, but I think I'm going to start back on the weekends I'm not up seeing Jody or working, well that only leaves one sunday a month, but Lily and Eden do enjoy it. And I left feeling really positive today.

Day 5 Round 2 HCG

And there it is down 3 pounds today I made my goal weight that I wanted to be by tomorrow. I've lost 15 pounds since last seeing my husband. So pretty much 15 pounds that were guaranteed by the product in a month I've lost in 20 days on the HCG. This bottle I have really been sticking with the protocol. Sometimes it is really hard, especially when I'm watching the kids eat pizza and I want a piece, but once I'm done with the diet I can eat it in moderation. No more entire pizza.

Down another 2 pounds and I'm thrilled. Only 3 more to reach my mini goal by Saturday :).
No side effects to report, didn't workout today, I felt like sleeping that extra 45 minutes. Maybe tomorrow.

I know I've not updated alot this week, but been really busy. I'm off this weekend so I'll get back at it ;)
