only 3 more to go

Thanksgivings that is, till he is home. He is already getting impatient, I can only imagine what that last year is going to be like for us. Holiday's apart are very rough, but my girls keep going and focused on whats important. We've already got most the christmas stuff up. Sometimes I can't tell if it is getting easier or harder, all I know is it is what it is.

I know I don't update often, but I am really busy with other things and especially right now getting ready for christmas. I finally started seeing someone about the stress I've been under, not sure if it will help or not, its not like I can give up anything lol, I don't drink or do drugs, I just well eat way to much..That is something to work on.

As always I'll try to update more or try to get him to give a post. Happy belated thanksgiving everyone, I'm very thankful for all those that continue to read my blog :)

Holidays are coming up

This is always the hardest time of year for me. Especially now with him so far away, so I'm hoping these next couple of months fly by. We have switched to google voice, so the calls are much much cheaper and we can talk everyday sometimes twice a day for the same amount I was paying for 4-6 calls a month. Talking to him that often definitely helps my mood. Though the girls have to remind me to not hog the phone.

Everything is pretty much the same, he still hasn't adjusted to the move, so it makes it hard on him. I"m praying we get a lateral transfer in December, so I can at least go see him.

I'm working to stay busy, it helps the time to pass. And launched of a new facebook page, called Letters From. For the holiday season I send out letters from Santa to kids all over, for alot cheaper than the other sites. If you have kids  in your life, check it out here .
Just a little something to help pass the time.

Special Offer Letters from Santa Order Now

How would you like for your child to receive his or her own personal letter from Santa to help increase the Christmas spirit and fun. Handwritten and mailed especially to them. I know my girls love to receive mail.

This is very simple and very cheap.

Order now through thanksgiving and the letter including shipping is only $1.00 (payable via paypal,)
From thanksgiving through Dec. 1 its $1.50
and Dec 2-Dec 20 its $2.00

If you order now your childs letter will be shipped on 11/30th. If you wait till December to order, they will ship when the order processes, but remember the postal system can be tricky. The sooner you get your order in the better.

Don't forget to include your childs name, something special they do to help out, and anything else you would want santa to include in the letter.

Tell me about your child

Happy Valentines Day....

I really dislike this holiday, even when my husbands homes but much more now that he isn't...
But I do still celebrate it for my kids. So how am I celebrating it this year, we (me and our kids) went out yesterday, to mr. gattis, then I took the oldest on a clothes shopping spree (a little retail therpy can never hurt). Rented the Time Travelers Wife, watched it while eating a gallon of icecream and crying... Today me and Eden (our oldest) are baking a heart shaped cake...

We sent my hsuband some valentine cards, I had planned on visiting but that hope was crushed b/c he isn't in the right faciltiy to go with his class level, so unless there is an er, I can't see him. :(.

So I thought I wouldput up a little history on valentines, as I found the sotry interesting...Enjoy

Most scholars believe that this St. Valentine was a priest who lived around 270 AD in Rome and attracted the disfavor of Roman emperor Claudius II who ruled during this time. He felt that married men were more emotionally attached to their families, and thus, will not make good soldiers. He believed that marriage made the men weak. So he issued an edict forbidding marriage to assure quality soldiers.  The kindly bishop Valentine also realized the injustice of the decree. He saw the trauma of young lovers who gave up all hopes of being united in marriage. He planned to counter the monarch's orders in secrecy. Whenever lovers thought of marrying, they went to Valentine who met them afterwards in a secret place, and joined them in the sacrament of matrimony. And thus he secretly performed many marriages for young lovers. But such things cannot remain hidden for long. It was only a matter of time before Claudius came to know of this "friend of lovers," and had him arrested.
While awaiting his sentence in prison, Valentine was approached by his jailor, Asterius. It was said that Valentine had some saintly abilities and one of them granted him the power to heal people. Asterius had a blind daughter and knowing of the miraculous powers of Valentine he requested the latter to restore the sight of his blind daughter. It appears that Valentine in some way did succeed to help Asterius' blind daughter. Valentine refused to agree with the emperor regarding the ban on marriag, and was sentenced to death. .Valentine and Asterius' daughter fell in love his imprisonment. It caused great grief to the young girl to hear of his friend's imminent death. It is said that just before his execution, Valentine asked for a pen and paper from his jailor, and signed a farewell message to her "From Your Valentine," a phrase that lived ever after.
